
'Fish Win Second Straight over York

(York, P.A. - July 11, 2014) - The Bridgeport Bluefish defeated the York Revolution 5-3 on Friday evening at Santander Stadium.
Bridgeport jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning with James Simmons scoring after Ramon Castro reached on an error, plus an RBI single by Juan Martinez and an RBI sacrifice fly by designated hitter Luis Lopez. The 'Fish added a fourth run in the top of the second inning on Castro's RBI single.
York scored a run in the bottom of the third inning on shortstop Wilson Valdez's RBI double and brought the score to within 4-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning on second baseman Eric Patterson's RBI sacrifice fly. Bridgeport responded in the top of the sixth inning on Simmons's RBI single to give Bridgeport a 5-2 lead. Simmons went 2-4 on the night with two runs scored in addition to his RBI. York would score their final run of the night when third baseman Travis Garcia hit a triple and scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Bridgeport's starting pitcher Tomo Ohka (4-6) picked up the win, allowing two runs off six hits in six innings pitched while Winston Abreu converted his 14th save of the season and his second consecutive save against the Revolution. York's starting pitcher Logan Williamson (2-3) allowed four runs and two earned runs in two innings pitched while walking four batters.
Bridgeport will play game three of their four game series against York on Friday evening with first pitch scheduled for 6:30pm. The 'Fish return to the Ballpark at Harbor Yard after the Atlantic League All-Star Break on Friday, July 18th to begin a four-game series against the Somerset Patriots, with first pitch at 7:05pm.
