Rivermen to Visit Children's Hospital of Illinois Today at 1:30 p.m.

Peoria, Ill. (November 23, 2004) – Team Captain Trevor Baker of the Peoria Rivermen of the ECHL announced today that the team will visit the Child Life Department of the Children's Hospital of Illinois at OSF-St. Francis Medical Center three times this season – Today-Tuesday, November 23; Tuesday, December 14; and Tuesday, February 8 – at 1:30 p.m. on each occasion.

The entire Rivermen team and coaching staff will interact with and sign autographs for the pediatric patients on these three occasions. In addition, during their February 8 visit, the Rivermen will help the pediatric patients create Valentine's in the Child Life Department Activities Room as they did last year.

The Peoria Rivermen are a proud affiliate of the NHL's St. Louis Blues and a member of the ECHL – The Premier "AA" Hockey League. The Rivermen host the Reading Royals on Thursday, November 25 (Thanksgiving) and Friday, November 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Carver Arena. On Thanksgiving, as part of the Rivermen "Stuff The Bus" promotion, fans are encouraged to bring two canned goods to the Carver Arena Box Office to donate to the Peoria Friendship House, and they will receive a Half Price Upper Bowl ticket. On Friday, November 26, it is a Finally Friday, presented by 99X and Insight Media. Fans are encouraged to bring a Sprite/Barq's Root Beer/Pibb Xtra can to the Carver Arena Box Office to receive a "Buy One, Get One Upper Bowl Ticket Free" offer. They are also encouraged to bring new or gently-used coats to be donated as part of the Salvation Army "Coats for Kids" Drive.
