Lafayette, LA – Las Vegas Wrangler's goaltender Sebastien Centomo stopped 52 IceGators shots and Jason McBain's game winner in overtime capped a late Las Vegas rally, as the Louisiana IceGators saw a l2 goal third period lead disappear en route to a 4-3 loss in the Cajundome on Tuesday night. With the one point for the OT loss, the Gators moved into a tie for 1st place in the South Division with 14 points and a record of 6-3-2.

Wes Mason's power play goal, his 2nd of the game and 8th of the season at 4:18 of the 3rd period gave Louisiana a 3-1 lead. The Gators did not allow a shot on goal for the first 12 minutes of the 3rd. But what seemed like a sure victory started to slip away as former Gator, Ryan Gaucher, slipped a wrist shot past Nathan Marsters at 14:29 to cut the lead to 3-2. It was Gaucher's 3rd of the year and Vegas' 2nd power play tally of the night. The game would get tied just 3:31 later, off a scramble in front, Dustin Johner scored his 5th of the year, as he snapped the puck high past Marsters to tie the game. Despite outshooting Vegas 53-24 in regulation, the Gators were heading to overtime. In OT it took 1:44 for the Wranglers to complete the comeback, as former Hartford Whaler Jason McBain scored from 30 feet out on the right side to give Las Vegas the victory. For the night, the Gators outshot the Wranglers 55-27. Las Vegas was 2-5 on the power play, the Gators were 1-7.

The first period was dominated by Louisiana as the Gators outshot Las Vegas 20-5. Despite the difference in shots, the Gators could only get one puck past Vegas netminder Sebastien Centomo. At 7:15 of the period Wes Mason took a centering pass from Mike Omicioli and rocketed a top shelf wrist shot from 40 feet over the shoulder of Centomo for his 7th goal of the season and a 1-0 lead.

It took 1:45 for the Wranglers to tie the score in the 2nd period. Chris Stanley taking advantage of a broken stick and a 5 on 3 man advantage, was able to pick up a rebound and slide it past a sprawling Nathan Marsters to tie the game at 1 on his 3rd goal of the season. Louisiana took the lead back at 10:43, as Mason sent a knuckleball toward the left from the left wing boards. Chris Thompson, going to the net, redirected the puck through the legs of Centomo for his 2nd of the season and a 2-1 Gator lead through 40 minutes of play. Tonight marked the first time this season Louisiana did not get 2 points when leading after the first 2 periods.

The Gwinnett Gladiators return to the "Frozen Swamp" looking for revenge after last Wednesday's 4-2 defeat. This night will mark the unveiling of the IceGators "10th Anniversary Jersey". This jersey will be worn only on special nights during the season. In honor of the unveiling, Tony Chachere's is giving away replicas of the jersey to the 1st 1,000 kids twelve and under through the door on Friday night.
