Wildcatters' Ianiero Named In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Texas center Andrew Ianiero is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for November 15-21.

Playing five games in six days, the 23-year-old Ianiero scored five goals and nine points as the Wildcatters went 2-1-2 and improved to 4-6-4. After scoring a goal in a 4-3 shootout loss at Greenville on November 16, the 6-1 and 205-pound Ianiero had a career-high four points with a goal and a career-best tying three assists in a 4-2 win against Pensacola on Friday. After scoring a goal in a 4-2 win against Mississippi on Saturday, Ianiero scored a career-high two goals for the third time in his career, including the game-winning goal, and added an assist in a 4-1 win at Louisiana on Sunday.

Ianiero is tied for the team lead with two power-play goals and one game-winning goal and ranks second on the team with seven goals, seven assists and 14 points, tied for eighth in the league. In November, he leads the Wildcatters with seven goals and is tied for the lead with 12 points, one game-winning goal and two power-play goals.

In his third ECHL season, Ianiero has played in each of the last two ECHL All-Star Games, scoring a goal in the Northern Conference's 8-2 win in 2003 and registering an assist in the Western Conference's 7-6 loss in 2004. Selected in the fifth round (154th overall) by Ottawa in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Ianiero has scored 104 points (36g-68a) in 136 career ECHL games, including 56 points (18g-38a) in 59 games with Bakersfield in 2003-04.

On behalf of Andrew Ianiero, a case of pucks will be donated to a Texas area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL. In Glas Co has donated over 10,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities since it began sponsoring the award in 2000-01.
