Rivermen Sink Bulldogs 3-2 in a Shootout

Hamilton, Ontario - The Peoria Rivermen defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 3-2 in a shootout victory at Copps Coliseum. T.J. Hensick scored the shootout-winning goal while Phil McRae added a goal and an assist.
The Rivermen opened the scoring on a goal by McRae at 15:07 of the first period. Adam Cracknell took a shot from the left circle which was stopped by Hamilton starting goalie Nathan Lawson. The rebound came out to McRae who was stationed at the right of the crease and buried the loose puck.
The Bulldogs tied the score at 19:54 of the opening frame on a goal by Mike Blunden. After receiving a pass from Joe Callahan, Blunden split the defense at the blue line and went in on Peoria starting goaltender Ben Bishop and slid the puck between his legs and in the net.
The 'Dogs took the lead at 6:01 of the third stanza on a goal by Phil DeSimone. Joonas Nattinen carried the puck into the slot and dropped it behind to DeSimone who ripped a wrist shot top corner over the glove Bishop.
Peoria tied the score at 6:49 of the third period on a tally by Danny Syvret. Jay Barriball put the puck on net which was stopped initially by Lawson. Syvret then proceeded to jam the puck in the net as it was trickling through Lawson's pads.
The Rivermen won the shootout 2-1 and the game 3-2 as T.J. Hensick got the winner.
