
Cheverie Reassigned to Portland

Portland, Maine - The Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League in conjunction with their AHL affiliate, the Portland Pirates, announced that Marc Cheverie has been reassigned to Portland from the Gwinnett Gladiators (ECHL).
The 24-year old goaltender has started in seven games for Gwinnett during the season, earning a 2-1-4 record with a 2.47 GAA and .916 save percentage. The 6-foot-3 native of Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia made his AHL debut during the 2010-11 season with the Rochester Americans, posting a 2-7-1 record with a 3.91 GAA and .888 save percentage. Prior to beginning his professional career, Cheverie played at the collegiate level for three seasons with the University of Denver and was drafted by the Florida Panthers in the seventh round (193rd overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Pirates hockey will be back at the Civic Center tonight (Tuesday, November 15) when the Adirondack Phantoms visit Portland for the second of four meetings in a 6:30 p.m. faceoff. The four-game home-stand will continue on Friday, November 18 against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, and will conclude on Saturday, November 19 against the P-Bruins - both 7 p.m. starts. Featured during Friday's game against the Penguins will be a free Portland Pirates newspaper poster giveaway, courtesy of the Portland Press Herald, as well as another Dollar Desert Dog Night where fans can purchase their "Dollar Desert Dog" hot dogs for a single dollar at any of the Civic Center concession locations on the concourse from an hour before faceoff until 10 minutes after the second period begins.
