Wellman Recalled by Minnesota Wild

HOUSTON (NOVEMBER 15, 2011) --- Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled center Casey Wellman from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Wellman, 24 (10/18/87), leads the Aeros and ranks tied for second in the AHL with 10 goals, while pacing the AHL with seven power play goals. He also ranks second on the Aeros with 15 points. The 6-foot, 186-pound native of Brentwood, Calif., has skated 27 career games with the Wild, totaling five points (2-3=5). Wellman was signed as a free agent March 16, 2010. He wears No. 17 with the Wild.

The Aeros finish a four-game home stand at Toyota Center against Texas on Friday at 7:35 p.m. as part of the team's annual salute to the military.

The Aeros will host active duty personnel, the families of military serving in war zones, families who have lost loved ones, as well as dozens of newly enlisted military members. The night will include special presentations to the active duty personnel, including a number of service members recently back active duty, and a swearing-in ceremony for the new members of America's military.
