
Rivermen Reveal 2011-12 Opponents

Peoria Rivermen News Release
The Peoria Rivermen announced today that the club will host 13 different teams at Carver Arena this season. The team will play 42 of this year's 76 games against the newly formed Western Conference's Midwest Division. The Rivermen will open the 30th season of professional hockey in Peoria on Oct. 8 at the Peoria Civic Center.
The Rivermen will play 38 home and 38 road games and face each opponent an equal number of times at home and on the road. The full and complete 2011-12 Rivermen and American Hockey League schedule will be released next month.
Their most frequent rivals will be the Milwaukee Admirals and the Rockford IceHogs who they will play 12 times each. They will meet Chicago 10 times and the newest member of the Western Conference - Charlotte - eight times.
They will continue to see every team in the Western Conference with the exception of the Rochester Americans. Peoria will play 22 games against the West Division (San Antonio: 6, Houston: 4, Texas: 4, Oklahoma City: 4, Abbotsford: 4) and will face the North Division 12 times (Grand Rapids: 4, Lake Erie: 4, Hamilton: 2, Toronto: 2).
