Peoria Rivermen News Release

WELCOME TO PEORIA, MR. WILSON

LW Chris Wilson notched a hat trick to go with an assist in last night's win over Knoxville, giving him five goals in three games with Peoria since being acquired from Louisiana in exchange for Luke Sandler 11/25. In eight games with Louisiana before the trade Wilson had two goals and two assists, giving him seven goals and three assists overall this season.

THE MASKED MAN

Peoria goaltender Kyle Rank enters play tonight leading all qualifying SPHL goaltenders with a 2.13 GAA, and his .922 save percentage ranks third among goalies with at least 240 minutes played this season. Rank stopped a season-high 37 shots in a losing effort November 3 at Mississippi and since then he has gone 7-0-1 in goal for the Rivermen.

ROAD WARRIORS

The Rivermen are 4-1-0 this season in road games compared to 5-2-1 on their home ice. Last season Peoria went a league-best 17-9-2 away from Carver Arena while going 19-8-1 at home en route to a regular season SPHL points title.

THE WHOLE SHOOTING MATCH

Entering play tonight the Rivermen are out-shooting their opponents 153-102 in the first period of games, the widest such advantage for any team in any period this season. Overall this season the Rivermen are fifth in the league in shots on goal per game while the Peoria defense leads the league in fewest SOG allowed per game at 27.38. Peoria's 2.31 goals against per game also ranks second in the SPHL.

WHAT'S AHEAD

After tonight the Rivermen conclude their road trip with a Saturday night contest against the RiverKings in Southaven. After that, the Rivermen return home for a pair of games December 11 & 12 against the RiverKings at Carver Arena before going on the road again to Columbus December 18&19 and Huntsville 12/20.
