
Rivermen Announce 2003-2004 Team Awards

Peoria, Ill. (April 6, 2004) â Rivermen Head Coach Jason Christie of the Peoria Rivermen of the ECHL announced today that the 2003-2004 Team Awards have been presented. The Rivermen Team Awards are determined by a vote of the players or statistical achievements.
Fifth-year center Tyler Rennette finished the 2003-2004 regular season with 68 points (31g, 37a) in 65 games. The native of North Bay, Ontario, who turns 25 on April 16, was the team's Points Leader, Leading Goal Scorer and MVP for the second straight season.
Fifth-year center and Team Captain Trevor Baker completed the 2003-2004 regular season with 61 points (18g, 43a), achieving single-season career bests in assists and points. The 26-year-old native of Edmonton, Alberta, was the team's Assist Leader.
Sixth-year defenseman and Alternate Captain Joe Vandermeer concluded the 2003-2004 regular year with 46 points (6g, 40a) and a +18 plus/minus in 67 games, leading all Rivermen defensemen in assists and points. The 27-year-old native of Caroline, Alberta, was voted the team's Best Defenseman.
Second-year defenseman Scott Crawford finished the 2003-2004 regular season ranked first in goals (8) and second in assists (36) and points (44) among Rivermen defensemen. He ranked third on the team in plus/minus (+29) and was the only Rivermen player to play all 72 of the team's games. The native of Etobicoke, Ontario, who will turn 25 on April 21, was voted the team's Most Improved Player.
Rookie forward Colin Hemingway completed the 2003-2004 regular season with the Rivermen, posting 44 points (20g, 24a) and a +29 plus/minus in 36 games. He ranked second on the team in plus/minus and seventh in points and ranked first among team rookies in goals, assists and points. The 23-year-old native of Regina, Saskatchewan, was voted the team's Rookie of the Year.
The Rivermen take on the defending Kelly Cup Champion Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies in the first round of the 2004 Kelly Cup Playoffs. Game One of the Northern Division Semifinals is Wednesday, April 7 at 6:05 p.m. CT at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ. Game Two is Friday, April 9 at 6:05 p.m. CT at Boardwalk Hall. Games Three and Four (if necessary) are in Peoria, Ill. Monday, April 12 and Tuesday, April 13, respectively. Game times are 7:00 p.m. at Carver Arena. Game Five would return the series to Atlantic City on Thursday, April 15 at 6:05 p.m. CT. For individual playoff tickets, fans may call 309-673-3200.
