Atlantic City's Amidovski Named ITECH HOCKEY ECHL Saver of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Atlantic City goaltender Bujar Amidovski is the ITECH HOCKEY ECHL Saver of the Week for March 29-April 3. Amidovski was runner-up for the award the week of March 22-28 after going 2-0-0 with two shutouts, a goals against average of 0.00 and a save percentage of 1.000 (26-for-26).

Filling in for All-ECHL First Team goaltender Scott Stirling, who is currently on call-up to Bridgeport of the American Hockey League, Amidovski went 3-1-0 with two shutouts and a win against Eastern Conference winner Wheeling while helping Atlantic City to finish in second place in the Northern Division.

After making 15 saves in a 3-1 loss at Trenton on March 30, the 5-11 and 175-pound Amidovski made 14 saves in a 4-0 win against Toledo on March 31 and stopped 17 shots in a 7-0 win against Toledo on April 2. He closed out the week making 22 saves in a 4-3 win against Wheeling that allowed the defending Kelly Cup Champions move past Peoria to gain home ice advantage in the Northern Conference Semifinals.

Acquired in a trade deadline deal with Dayton, Amidovski has gone 5-2-0 with four shutouts, a goals against average of 1.28 and a .927 save percentage in seven games with Atlantic City. In 35 ECHL games in 2003-04, Amidovski is 15-16-1 with five shutouts, a goals against average of 2.83 and a save percentage of .902. He has also been called up to the AHL by both Grand Rapids and Cleveland in 2003-04.

Runners Up: Brian Eklund, Pensacola (2-0-0, 2.50 GAA, .941 save pct.), Trevor Koenig, San Diego (3 gp, 3-0-0, 1.32 GAA, .941 save pct.) and Joe Exter, Wheeling (1-1-0, 1.62 GAA, .955 save pct.)
