
San Diego's Gornick Named InGlasCo ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - San Diego left wing Brian Gornick is the InGlasCo ECHL Player of the Week for March 29-April 3.
The 24-year-old Gornick scored three game-winning goals, eight points (4g-4a) and was +5 while helping San Diego go 4-0-0 to clinch the Brabham Cup, the trophy awarded annually to the regular season points champion in the ECHL.
Selected in the ninth round (258th overall) by Anaheim in the 1999 National Hockey League Entry Draft, the 6-5 and 210-pound Gornick was involved in both goals in San Diego's 2-1 overtime win against Las Vegas on March 31, scoring the game winner after assisting on the first goal. He scored two goals, including the game winner, and tallied an assist in the Gulls 5-2 win at Bakersfield on April 2. He scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in San Diego's 2-1 win against Alaska on April 3.
Assigned to San Diego by Cincinnati of the American Hockey League on March 12, Gornick has scored 24 points (9g-15a) in 18 games with San Diego. He has three game-winning goals, two shorthand points (0g-2a) and six power-play points (3g-3a).
Gornick, who attended training camp with Anaheim and Cincinnati of the AHL, is under contract to Cincinnati of the AHL where he has scored two points (1g-1a) in 24 games in 2003-04. In his first professional season in 2002-03, Gornick scored six points (2g-4a) in 54 regular season games for Cincinnati.
Gornick played four seasons at the Air Force Academy scoring 103 points (45g-58a) in 130 games.
On behalf of Brian Gornick, a case of pucks will be donated to a San Diego area youth hockey organization by InGlasCo.
