"We have a lot of new blood here and we all are chomping at the bit to get started," veteran defenseman Derek Landmesser said. "I am looking forward to getting into some live game action and some hitting."

The team finally had a full allotment of players on the ice the last two days of training camp. The immigration and work visa issues that delayed the arrival of several Canadian players have been resolved and the team had 23 on the ice Wednesday and Thursday.

Landmesser is joined by fellow veterans Louis Dumont (F), Jason Sessa (F) and Jason Tessier (D). In the Central Hockey League, a veteran is player that has logged 280 or more professional games. CHL rules state that teams may carry no more than four veterans on their 18 man regular season roster.

Forwards: Phil Aucoin, Travis Banga, Derek Campbell, Ryan Campbell, Eric Frank, Ryan Held, Daryl Moore, Tristan Senior, Darrell Stoddard, Sheldon Wenzel and Chad Wilcox. Defensemen: Mark Cole, Andrew Dwyer, Bobby Gates, Steve Makway, and Chad McIver. Goalies: Ben Conway, Eric Marvin and Larry Sterling.

Head Coach Kevin McClelland will be using the two games with the Thunder to evaluate the players to help him put together his 18 player roster next week. Teams have to be down to that 18 number by Thursday, October 19.

The RiverKings open the regular season at home on Friday, October 20 against the Youngstown Steelhounds at 7:05. The first 1,500 fans 21 and older that night will receive Miller Lite RiverKings Magnet Schedules.
