RiverKings Tackle Evansville IceMen Tonight

SOUTHAVEN, MS --- The Mississippi RiverKings of the Central Hockey League (0-2-0) host the Evansville IceMen (0-1-0) tonight at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven, starting at 7:05 PM.

Tonight will be the first-ever regular season meeting between the franchises, with Evansville joining the CHL with the start of the season.

Mississippi opened the season last weekend with a pair of losses, falling Friday night at Bossier-Shreveport 10-1, then lost its home opener Saturday night before 5,327 paid at the DCC to the same Mudbugs 2-1.

Evansville opened its season at Dayton last Saturday night, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Gems.

Tomorrow night, the RiverKings will conclude their first season-opening home stand, hosting the Missouri Mavericks at the DCC at 7:05 PM.

Evansville has its home opener tomorrow night, meeting Quad City at the Swonder Ice Arena.

BROADCAST COVERAGE: RiverKings games are heard on the stations of Flinn Broadcasting of Memphis, with Sports 56, WHBQ-AM serving as the flagship station. Tonight, radio coverage is heard on WMFS-AM 1210, with pre-game coverage starting things off at 6:50 PM.

Tomorrow night's game will be heard on Sports 56, WHBQ-AM, beginning at 6:50 PM. Bob Bakken, the Voice of the RiverKings, provides the play-by-play coverage.

Both games will be audio streamed on the Sports 56 web site at www.sports56whbq.com.

Games are also available on CHL-TV, through the Neulion web casting service at http://chltv.neulion.com/chltv/. UPCOMING EVENTS:

October 23rd - RiverKings host Missouri at 7:05 PM. Horn Lake Parks and Recreation is the night's MVP. There's a post-game skate for fans after the contest.

October 26th - RiverKings Fan Club Meet and Greet at Southaven Buffalo Wild Wings, from 6-to-8 PM. Meet your RiverKings and enjoy 45 cent Wings Tuesday.

October 30th - Trick or Treat Halloween Bash: Come dressed in costume to observe Halloween as the RiverKings try to "trick" the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at 7:05 PM. Kids can do their trick-or-treating in the safe environment of the DCC concourse with candy available courtesy of Walgreen's.

October 31st - RiverKings Costume 3-on-3 Tournament. A "Killer" tradition continues as coach Kaminski and players dress up and pair off in threes for some costume fun and bragging rights. Admission is a donation to "stuff the skate" for the RiverKings Fan Club and Assists for Autism.
