
Mallards Fall in Dayton 3-2

Quad City Mallards News Release
DAYTON, OHIO - Matt Szypura broke a 2-2 tie early in the third period and the host Dayton Gems held on to defeat the Quad City Mallards 3-2 Friday night.
Szypura's long range wrist shot gave the Gems their first lead of the game at 5:42 of the third.
The Mallards had twice taken the lead earlier in the evening. Quad City was on the power play when Zac Pearson's drive from the left wing circle put the Mallards up 1-0 at 6:05 of the first period.
Dayton's Corey Couturier evened the score at one with a wrist shot from the right wing circle at 17:43 of the first.
The Mallards struck for their second power play goal when Tyler Kindle blasted the puck home at 3:47 of the second period. Quad City's 2-1 lead lasted only until Paul Ferraro ripped a Dayton power play goal from the blue line at 7:31 of the second.
The Mallards return to action tomorrow evening at 7:35 p.m. against the IceMen in Evansville before heading home for a rematch with Evansville Sunday afternoon at 4:05 p.m.
Sunday afternoon is the Mallards' first Family Day Presented by APAC Customer Services, Inc. and Mix 96. Family Day enables fans to purchase four tickets, four beverages and four hot dogs all for just $34. Fans attending next Sunday's game will also have the chance to join their favorite Mallards on the ice for a postgame skate. Sunday's game will be followed by three more Mallards Sunday Family Days- contests on November 21 against Dayton, December 12 against Fort Wayne and January 30 against Missouri. Family Day ticket packages can be purchased in person at the i wireless Center box office, at www.myqcmallards.com or by calling the Mallards at 309-277-1364.
Following Sunday's game, fans can join the Mallards at Van's Pizza, Pub & Grill in Davenport for a postgame party. The Mallards will head directly to Van's, which is located at 3333 N. Harrison Street in Davenport, immediately after Sunday's postgame skate. The event is open to all fans.
Tickets for all Mallards regular season home games are available in person at the i wireless Center box office, at Ticketmaster outlets, through www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000. The ticket office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days other than Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the end of the first period. On Sundays on which the Mallards play at home the ticket office will be open from 1:00 p.m. until the end of the first period.
