SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced today that the team has signed center Paul Ciarelli to a contract. Terms and conditions were not released. To make room for Ciarelli on the roster, Justin Gvora was placed on the 30-day injured reserve.

Ciarelli, 23, is coming off a three-game contract with the RiverKings during which he picked up two points (1g, 1a). Those were the first three games of his professional career; he played for the University of Manitoba from 2012 to 2014. Ciarelli collected both points, his first points as a pro, Nov. 21 vs. Louisiana.

Gvora, 27, sustained an injury in last night's overtime loss to the Columbus Cottonmouths. In 11 games this year Gvora has six points (3g, 3a), which is fourth on the team. He also has a game-winning goal in addition to a plus-1 rating.

The RiverKings are back home at the Landers Center tonight for Mustache Awareness Night. Tickets start as low as $5 and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com/riverkings.
