Columbus Downs Mississippi RiverKings in Overtime, 3-2

Matt Gingera gave the Columbus Cottonmouths a 3-2 (OT) victory over Mississippi RiverKings when he scored 23 seconds into the extra period.

Columbus was led by Gingera, who racked up one goal and one assist.

Columbus also had goals scored by Neilsson Arcibal and Shawn Bates, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Columbus were Levi Lind and Nick Curry, who each chipped in one.

Mississippi RiverKings stifled the Cottonmouths' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Mississippi RiverKings put 37 shots on net during the contest, more than the 30.5 it averages per game.

Mississippi RiverKings was helped by Linden Bahm, who registered one goal. Bahm scored 6:12 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Mississippi RiverKings. Justin Gvora provided the assist. Mississippi RiverKings also got a goal from Cody Dion as well. In addition, Mississippi RiverKings received assists from Devin Mantha, who had one.

Andrew Loewen rejected 35 shots on goal for Columbus. The Cottonmouths incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Adam Courchaine recorded 27 saves for Mississippi RiverKings. Mississippi RiverKings incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
