Former RiverKings Goalie John Griggs Jumps to AHL

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- Former Mississippi RiverKings goaltender John Griggs, who played in Southaven briefly last season, has signed a professional try-out (PTO) with the Chicago Wolves in the American Hockey League (AHL). A PTO is good for up to 25 games in the AHL.

Griggs played two games with the RiverKings last season. He went 1-1-0 in his starts, allowing just three goals. He finished his stint with the RiverKings with a 1.51 goals-against average and a .936 save percentage. The Barrington, Illinois native spent 2013-14 with four teams, including the Denver Cutthroats and Rapid City Rush in the CHL. He began this season with the ECHL's Missouri Mavericks. The Wolves are the St. Louis Blues' AHL affiliate.

The RiverKings are back home at the Landers Center this Saturday, November 29 for Mustache Awareness Night. Tickets start as low as $5 and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com/riverkings. Groups of 15 or more get discounts on tickets and should call the RiverKings front office at 662-342-1755. The RiverKings are home December 5 for "Pack the House" for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Tickets are discounted $5 and groups get an additional $2 off.
