Mississippi RiverKings News Release
TULSA --- Ryan Campbell tied the game with 25 seconds left in regulation and Derek Landmesser ended it with a goal 2:24 into overtime to send the Memphis RiverKings to their fourth straight win, a 3-2 come from behind victory over the Tulsa Oilers Friday night in Tulsa . Landmesser, who was announced as a Northern Conference All-Star starter earlier in the day, finished with a goal and an assist. Don Parsons had the other goal as Memphis evened the season series 1-1 in what was the 99th over-all meeting between the two teams.
The RiverKings were nursing the 1-0 lead that Don Parsons had given them in the second period when Tulsa's Jaroslav Cesky scored at 10:39 of the third. That was followed 3:25 later by a goal from Klage Kaebel that broke the tie and gave the Oilers their first lead. A skirmish that involved the RiverKings' Darrell Stoddard and the Oilers' Mario Joly with under 2 minutes to go resulted in Joly getting a game misconduct and a 5 minute penalty for fighting that gave the RiverKings the power play on which they scored the tying goal and the overtime game winner.
The RiverKings outshot the Oilers 46-28, marking the sixth consecutive game that they have held a team to under 30 shots. Michael Dilorenzo made his second start for the RiverKings and stopped 26 of 28 shots to improve his season record to 4-1-1.
The RiverKings and Oilers will meet in the second half of the home-and-home series tomorrow night at 5:05 in New Year's Eve Northern Conference face-off at the DeSoto Civic Center.
