WHAT: Crucial Central Hockey League Northeast Division game

WHEN: Tonight at 7:05 PM

WHERE: DeSoto Civic Center, 4560 Venture Drive, Southaven, MS

WHY: The battle for post-season playoff positioning heats up tonight with both teams are trying to assure themselves of home ice advantage for as long as they can in the CHL playoffs.

OF NOTE:

First of six remaining games in the CHL season for the RiverKings, four of which come against Bossier-Shreveport.

Mississippi is 40-15-3 for 83 points and first place in the CHL Northeast Division. The RiverKings are in second place in the Northern Conference and are tied for second in the overall CHL league race, one point behind current leader Colorado.

Bossier-Shreveport is 37-17-4 for 78 points and third place in the CHL Northeast. The Mudbugs have a 5-3-0 record against the RiverKings this season, but have lost two straight on Louisiana ice to the RiverKings.

The RiverKings play Bossier-Shreveport three straight times at home: tonight, tomorrow night and again on Tuesday, before playing next Wednesday night at Tulsa, Friday at Bossier City, and at home to finish the regular season Saturday against Tulsa.
