FOUTS ACTIVATED, MARGESON ON IR
The RiverKings today placed defenseman Stephen Margeson on the 45-day IR and activated defenseman Nick Fouts from the 45-day IR. Margeson suffered a broken jaw in the January 27 game at Tulsa and is set to undergo surgery. Fouts has been out since injuring his shoulder on December 20 versus Austin.
THE SERIES
The RiverKings and Steelhounds play the second of their three-game set in Ohio's Mahoning Valley tonight. Memphis spoiled Youngstown's kids game on Wednesday to the tune of 6-2 and, in the process, took over sole possession of second place in the Northeast Division. A four-goal second period, Taras Foremsky's two goals and four assists from Derek Landmesser did the trick. The RiverKings are 3-0 this season against the expansion Steelhounds; outscoring them 15-6. The teams play again tomorrow night at the Chevy Centre at 6:05 CST.
RIVERKINGS HERE AND THERE
Forward Ryan Watson is on career high 5 game assist and point streaks (1-8-9)
Defenseman Derek Landmesser's 4 assists in Wednesday's game was a personal and team season high. His career high is 5 assists versus Laredo on 1/29/05.
Wednesday's win was the RiverKings' first road win since 12/30, a 3-2 OTW at Tulsa.
The RiverKings have not won back to back games since that win at Tulsa on 12/30. They have not won back to back road games this season.
Forward Taras Foremsky matched a career high with his two goals on Wednesday. It is the third time in his 4 year career that he has scored twice in a game.
Don Parsons has a 5 game point streak (6-2-8) and has had at least 1 point in 13 of his last 15 games (12-14-26).
