RiverKings in the Mid-South Update

(Southaven, MS) --- It's shaping up as another busy few weeks for your RiverKings, as players, staff, mascots, and Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin "Killer" Kaminski head out to support area causes and let the Mid-South know about your professional hockey team.

This Saturday, join RiverKings mascot Sheldon the Turtle and support the North Mississippi Down Syndrome Awareness Picnic at the Goodman Oaks Church of Christ. Sheldon will be on hand between 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM at the church, located at 1700 Goodman Road East in Southaven. The picnic benefits the Down Syndrome Association of Memphis and the Mid-South.

Also Saturday, mascot RiverThing will make an appearance at the TCU Reunion at the LeBonheur Children's Medical Center in Memphis, located at 50 North Dunlap Street. The event will run from 11 AM to 4 PM and RiverThing will be by during the reunion that afternoon.

Sheldon makes another appearance on Saturday, this time for the grand opening of the new CVS Pharmacy location at Church and Getwell Roads in Southaven between 3 PM and 4 PM that afternoon.

Kaminski and team captain/defenseman Derek Landmesser will be on hand to play in this year's Sacred Heart School Fall Golf Classic, set for Friday, September 25th at The Club at North Creek in Southaven. The tournament begins at 12 Noon and raises funds for Sacred Heart School in Southaven.

You'll find RiverKings mascot Sheldon the Turtle appearing at this year's Mid-South Fair on Friday, September 25th here at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven, during the afternoon. Stop by and say hello to Sheldon the Turtle while he patrols the Civic Center grounds during the annual fair held this year at the DCC.

That same weekend, RiverKings players Landmesser, Louis Dumont, coach Kaminski, and Group Sales Manager Adam Shelton team up to play in a benefit golf tournament for youth hockey coach Marc Floresca, injured during a storm earlier this summer in Memphis. The tournament will be played Saturday, September 26th at Olive Branch's Plantation Golf Course, beginning at 8 AM.

Other events on the 26th involving the RiverKings will include the Conger Park "Play Day at the Park" from 10 AM to 2 PM, hosted by the City of Hernando, a CVS Pharmacy grand opening at the new Olive Branch store, located at Goodman and Crumpler Roads, and the Big Scoop Ice Cream Festival at AutoZone Park in Memphis to benefit the Ronald McDonald House.
