THE MATCH UP
The RiverKings and Steelhounds meet in the second of a three game set at the Chevrolet Centre in Youngstown. Last night, the Steelhounds rallied to tie the game in the final two minutes of the 3rd period and then went on to win it in an eight round shootout. For the RiverKings, the point they secured with the shootout loss put them back in sole possession of first place in the Northeast Division. Also, the RiverKings are a win tonight or a Tulsa loss tonight away from clinching their first playoff berth since the 02-03 season. For the first time this season, the RiverKings have a three game winless streak at 0-1-2 in their last last three games. Meanwhile, the Steelhounds are on a franchise record seven game unbeaten string (6-0-1) and have had their last five games go past regulation. Again, the RiverKings will be without center Louis Dumont, who is on CHL leave and did not make the trip to Youngstown. The RiverKings are now 4-1-3 this season versus Youngstown, 12-2-3 all-time, and 5-0-1 all-time in the Mahoning Valley.
