
RiverHawks sign rookie pitcher

LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks announced today that they have signed rookie pitcher Gerad Bryan to a contract.
Bryan, 23, is a native of Wilmington. This spring, he was 6-1 with a 1.32 earned-run average in nine games for NCAA Division II Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville. The right-hander struck out 30 and walked 15 in 41 innings.
The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 15th season.
