River City Rascals News Release
O'FALLON, MO--On September 15, 2007, T.R. Hughes Ballpark and the River City Rascals will be hosting a baseball legends extravaganza. Fans will want to get to the ballpark as soon as possible so they can see St. Louis Cardinal legends take on the rival Chicago Cubs legends. Hall of Famer Fergie Jenkins will highlight the star studded rosters in an event that will be sure bring back memories of America's favorite past time.
As St. Louis Cardinal fans will tell you, there is no love lost for the Chicago northsiders. And in this event, parents can bring their child to the game and tell them, "Son when I was your age I saw Fergie Jenkins give up a homerun to the Cardinals." Not that Jenkins gave up to many of those, but the same connection can be made for a kid who now watches Albert Pujols take one out of the yard against the Cubbies.
Also, fans will want to be sure to take advantage the autograph session from the Cardinal and Cub Legends. During the pre-game ceremonies, fans will be allowed to get autographs along the warning track at T.R. Hughes Ballpark.
This game is a tradition that Rascals General Manager Steve Malliet carries with him from Joliet, where the game always brought in a great time and a packed house.
Game time will be at 7:05 pm. More information on this event, and the players participating, will be released as the date gets closer.
