Rockford RiverHawks News Release

LOVES PARK, Ill. - One of the top winners in Frontier League history is coming back to the Rockford RiverHawks.

The RiverHawks announced on Sunday that they have re-signed pitcher Brett Scarpetta. Scarpetta, 26, led the team in wins last year and is fifth on the Frontier League's all-time win list.

The Rockton Hononegah High School alumnus was 7-6 with a 5.24 earned-run average in 25 appearances, 17 as a starter, last year. In his four-year career, spent entirely in the Frontier League, Scarpetta is 31-18 with a 4.14 ERA.

The RiverHawks made room on the roster with the release of pitcher Kasey Kiker. The former Texas Rangers first-round pick was 0-2 with a 17.55 ERA in three appearances, two as a starter, with Rockford.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, an independent professional baseball league in its 20th season. Games are broadcast live on WNTA (100.5 FM). Advertising and season-ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255. Fans can also visit www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
