
RiverDogs Ring in August with 4-Game Weekend Series

CHARLESTON, SC - After a 10-day journey away from the Lowcountry, the Charleston RiverDogs conclude July and sprint into August with a four-game series with the Lexington Legends, an affiliate of the Houston Astros, that begins on Friday, July 31 and finishes on Monday, August 3. Baseball enthusiasts will truly enjoy the four-game long weekend at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park as endless fun and excitement bounds along the banks of the scenic Ashley River.
Over the long weekend the homestand begins with a Force Protection Red Shirt Friday and Friday Night Fireworks with a special appearance by former American League President Dr. Gene Budig, who will be on hand to sign his newest book, Grasping the Ring II. Saturday is another free giveaway as the RiverDogs gladly hand out GI Joe Helmets, courtesy of SAIC and WTAT Fox 24. Families again can enjoy free parking and children 12-and under eat free on Family Sunday's at The Joe, and winding up the homestand on Monday is a "Dogs with a Cause" Night that features the non-profit organization, Darkness to Light, presented by Palmetto Behavioral Health.
Force Protection Industries Red Shirt Friday / Instant Stay'cation Night / Gene Budig Book Signing / Friday Night Post-Game Fireworks
Fridays are Force Protection Red Shirt Fridays so wear a red shirt and get a dollar off a walk-up ticket price. Fans then have the option to donate that dollar to a military family with parents fighting overseas. Fans will compete in Survivor-like games throughout the evening to win a trip to nowhere as part of Instant Stay'cation Night. Former American League President Dr. Gene Budig will sign his newest book, Grasping the Ring II, in Margaritaville prior to the game. Concluding every Friday night game at The Joe fans will enjoy a spectacular pyrotechnic display with post-game fireworks. GI Joe Helmet Giveaway
The first 1,000 fans entering the gates for Saturday's game between the RiverDogs and Legends will receive a GI Joe Helmet courtesy of SAIC and WTAT Fox 24. To go along with the upcoming motion picture release of GI Joe - The Rise of Cobra - there will be clips from the 80's cartoon on the videoboard and fans will have a chance to win free movie tickets. Any active or retired military men or women can enjoy a special 2-for-1 special admission to Saturday's game with their military ID. Following the game, kids can experience a lap around the bases to cap their night at The Joe
Family Sunday / Night Out Against Crime
Sunday at The Joe always means the stadium is packed with family fun, starting with free parking and kids 12-under eat free in addition to face painting and inflatables on the concourse, Reading with the RiverDogs and families playing catch in the outfield prior to the game. Plus, Charlie and the RiverDogs will sign autographs after the game. Family Sunday is presented by the Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission and Star 99.7 FM.
"Dogs with a Cause" featuring Darkness to Light
Darkness to Light is featured at Monday's "Dogs with a Cause" and will raise money and awareness for their cause and is presented by Palmetto Behavioral Health. Fans, bring your neighbor to The Joe as part of Tom McQueeney's State Farm Good Neighbor Monday as neighbors can receive two-for-one admission to the night's game with identification. One lucky neighbor will receive a pair of binoculars, courtesy of Tom McQueeney State Farm Insurance.
