(Charleston, SC)- Charleston Miracle League has been named the Official Charity of the 45th Annual South Atlantic League All-Star Game, June 29 at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, the RiverDogs announced Tuesday.

The goal of the all-volunteer Charleston Miracle League is to establish a youth baseball program for Lowcountry children with any and all types of mental and physical disabilities.

They are currently raising money to build a state-of-the-art, specially designed Astroturf baseball field to provide a place for these children to hit, throw and circle the bases.

"The Charleston Miracle League is delighted to have formed a partnership with the Charleston RiverDogs that will allow ALL children, regardless of their physical or mental challenges, to experience the joy of playing our national pastime," said Channing Proctor, President and Executive Director of Charleston Miracle League.

"We look forward with great anticipation to participating in the upcoming All-Star Game as the RiverDogs' primary charitable beneficiary."

As the official charity of the 45th Annual South Atlantic League All-Star Game, the RiverDogs will donate autographed All-Star jerseys, one by the Northern Division team, and one by the Southern Division club, to be auctioned off in silent fashion during the All-Star Game.

All launch-a-ball proceeds on the night of the All-Star Game will go directly to Charleston Miracle League, and several Miracle League team members will be participating in the RiverDogs "Field of Dreams" event before the game.

"We are thrilled to help the Charleston Miracle League in any way we can," said RiverDogs General Manager Dave Echols. "I hope the attention generated by the All-Star Game will help raise awareness for the CML not only locally, but perhaps on a regional and national scale."

Tickets for the 45th Annual South Atlantic League All-Star Game, June 29 at Riley Park, are available in person at the Riley Park Box Office, by phone at (843) 577-DOGS (3647) and online at etix.com and riverdogs.com.
