Albany River Rats News Release

ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today that they have recalled forward Yannick Tifu from loan with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL. Albany also announced that they have signed Everblades left wing Brad Herauf to a professional tryout contract.

Tifu, 24, made Albany's season-opening roster out of training camp and played in the River Rats first nine games of the 2008-09 season before being loaned to Florida on November 3rd. The Brossard, Quebec native has played in 20 games for the Everblades this year and ranks second on the team in points (28), scoring six goals and a team-leading 22 assists. In his fourth season as a pro, Tifu has appeared in 33 career AHL games with Albany and Rochester and has eight points (3 goals, 5 assists) and 19 penalty minutes. Last year Tifu made his AHL debut with the River Rats on December 19, 2007, coincidentally against Rochester; he signed a standard AHL contract with Albany on September 11, 2008.

Herauf, 26, has eight points (3 goals, 5 assists) and 35 penalty minutes in 16 games for the Everblades this season. The Regina, Saskatchewan native is looking to make his AHL debut with Albany, but he did attend the River Rats 2007 AHL training camp and played in two preseason games that year against the Syracuse Crunch. Herauf (5-11, 195 lbs.) is in his sixth professional year and has played in 281 career games all in the ECHL and Central Hockey League, where he has 142 career points (65 goals, 77 assists) and 1,149 penalty minutes.

Both players are expected to be in the River Rats lineup tonight as they host the Rochester Americans for a 5:00 pm face off at the Times Union Center.
