Rangers recall Potter

New York, December 27, 2008 -- New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that defenseman Corey Potter has been recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Potter, 24, has registered two goals and nine assists for 11 points, along with 30 penalty minutes in 26 games with Hartford this season. He currently ranks second on the team among defensemen in points (11), third in goals (two) and is tied for second among Wolf Pack blueliners in assists (nine). The Lansing, Michigan native has recorded two multiple-point games this season, including a multiple-assist effort on October 22 at Worcester. The 6-3, 200-pounder skated in one game with the Rangers this season. He made his NHL debut on December 7 vs. Calgary.

The Blueshirts return to action tonight, December 27, when they will face off against the New Jersey Devils at Madison Square Garden (7:30 PM). The Rangers have won their last five meetings vs. New Jersey at MSG, outscoring the Devils, 12-4, during the stretch.
