River Rats assign Leblond to Frostbifte

GLENS FALLS, NY - The Adirondack Frostbite, proud members of the United Hockey League, announced today that the team has received left wing Pierre-Luc Leblond on assignment from the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League. The 20-year-old Leblond is set to make his professional debut tonight as the Frostbite travel to Port Huron for a 7:30 face-off against the Flags.

Leblond played the last two seasons with Baie-Comeau Drakkar of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. In 129 games, he tallied three goals and added nine assists for 12 points, to go along with 427 penalty minutes. Last season, he led the team with 229 penalty minutes. Leblond was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the seventh round, 216th overall, of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

"This is a win-win situation for both the Frostbite and River Rats," Frostbite head coach Marc Potvin said. "Pierre-Luc will get to hone his skills playing for us, in very close proximity to Albany. We look forward to working with the River Rats this season in developing Leblond's game."

Adirondack is in Port Huron tonight for a 7:30 face-off, and then concludes its two-game Michigan road trip tomorrow in Flint for a 7:35 match-up with the Generals. Catch all of the action on WCKM 98.5, starting with the pre-game show 20 minutes prior to face-off.

The Frostbite return home on Wednesday, hosting the Quad City Mallards at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are available at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office.
