Missouri River Otters News Release
St. Charles, MO --- The Missouri River Otters of the United Hockey League are proud to announce that they have hired Rick Hanlon and Greg Cable to fill the positions of head athletic trainer and head equipment manager, respectively.
Both Hanlon and Cable are St. Louis natives who have plenty of experience in their specific fields, and the River Otters organization is thrilled to have them on board.
"We want to welcome them to the River Otters family," Missouri River Otters Head Coach Kevin Kaminski said. "Both Rick and Greg came highly recommended, and I have no doubt they will do a tremendous job."
Hanlon served as the head athletic trainer for the East Coast Hockey League's Roanoke Express for the past three seasons. After working in Virginia for an extended period of time, he's thrilled to be coming home.
"My wife and I are from St. Louis, so it's great to be back and working for the River Otters," said Hanlon, who interned with the River Otters from 1999-2001. "The organization has been great to me so far, and I am looking forward to a fun and successful season."
Cable brings National Hockey League experience to the table, as he served as assistant equipment manager for the St. Louis Blues. He's also worked with the Waco Wizards of the Western Professional Hockey League and the St. Louis Vipers roller hockey team.
The River Otters start their Colonial Cup quest Friday, October 15 at Kansas City, and the home opener is Saturday, October 23 against Quad City.
