West Sacramento, Calif. - The Sacramento River Cats, along with community partners at Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services, will host their 9th Annual Players' Wives Food Drive during the River Cats' 7:05 p.m. game vs. the Las Vegas 51s on Saturday, July 19 at Raley Field (beginning when gates open at 6:00 p.m.).

Wives and families of River Cats players and coaches will be at Raley Field collecting canned food and selling autographed cards of the players and coaches, with all proceeds benefiting Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services. Information about programs offered by Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services can be found online at www.sfbs.org.

Since 2000, the River Cats' Wives' Food Drive, started by Pam Geren (wife of former River Cats Manager and current Oakland A's Manager Bob Geren), has collected nearly 30,000 pounds of food and vital supplies and $14,500 in cash donations for local families. Last year's River Cats' Wives' Donation Drive focused on a need for diapers and generated contributions that purchased approximately $11,000 worth of diapers for area families in need.

Tickets for the game are still available and can be purchased at the Raley Field ticket office or online at www.rivercats.com. For more information about the 2008 River Cats season, visit www.rivercats.com. For information on other events at Raley Field, visit www.raleyfield.com.
