Sacramento River Cats News Release

West Sacramento – Freddie Bynum's bases loaded, 2-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth scored Jack Cust and gave the Sacramento River Cats a dramatic 1-0 victory over the Salt Lake Stingers at Raley Field. Cust led off the 9th with a walk and was moved to second by a sacrifice bunt by Brant Colamarino. After Andrew Beattie was intentionally walked, an error by Salt Lake 3B Adam Pavkovich on Bobby Smith's fielder's choice loaded the bases. John baker struck out swinging for the second out before Bynum came to the plate to collect the dramatic hit. Cats starter Mario Ramos was spectacular in the no-decision, tossing 8 shutout innings before giving way to Marcus Gwyn in the 9th. Beattie was 2-for-3 on the night with his 8th and 9th doubles of the season to lead the Sacramento offense. The Cats and Stingers square off again on Saturday, with RHP Jimmy Serrano (4-2, 5.51) taking the mound for the Cats against Salt Lake's RHP Doug Sessions (0-3, 6.69).
