Quad Cities River Bandits News Release

DAVENPORT, Iowa - The Quad Cities River Bandits jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning and never trailed against the Bees on Monday night en route to a 5-1 win. Devin Goodwin's sacrifice fly and Matt Adams' solo home run put the Bandits tin front for good.

Offensively, the River Bandits pounded out six hits with Ryde Rodriguez leading the way with two. Rodriguez, Alan Ahmady and Luis Mateo each added an RBI in the sixth inning to put the Bandits ahead 5-1.

The Bees never posed much of a threat as Bandit pitching led by Eric Fornataro (6-7) halted their every attempt. Fornataro went six innings, and only gave up one run on three hits and struck out five. The Bandit starter picked up the win, his first since late May. Michael Blazek and Aaron Terry came out of the bullpen to keep Burlington off the board for the rest of the game. Tyler Sample (3-5) took the loss for the Bees. Sample pitched six innings and allowed five runs on six hits while matching his season-high by striking out eight.

The River Bandits and Bees finish up their three-game set tomorrow night at Modern Woodmen Park. Right-hander Jorge Rondon (3-4) will face off against Burlington righty Keaton Hayenga (1-6). Tuesday is another Economic Stimulus Tuesday at the ballpark with Kraft Singles two-for-one tickets and kids can eat free. The first pitch is set for 7:00.
