Riggers Nab Three NLL Player of the Week Honours

CALGARY- Roughnecks Dane Dobbie, Jeff Shattler and Curtis Dickson all received NLL Player of the Week honors after their home-and-home weekend against Edmonton on January 28th and 29th. The Roughnecks defeated the Rush both nights, giving them a 4-2 record going into February.

Receiving his first NLL honor for Rookie of the Week is Dickson notching also his first NLL career hatrick and an assist on Friday's 15-11 victory over the Rush. He followed the exact same suit on Saturday's rematch against the Rush with a hatrick and an assist for four points, which the Roughnecks went on to win 12-11 in OT.

In the home-and-home series against the Rush Dobbie received the offensive player of the week after garnering nine points (3g, 6a) on Friday's first game. Back in Calgary on Saturday, Dobbie had four points (1g, 3a) and five loose balls.

Riggers Shattler picked up the award for transition after having a strong weekend accumulating a goal and two assists, plus five loose balls against the Rush on Friday. On Saturday, Shattler showed up on the score sheet even more against the Rush with seven points from two goals and five assists, plus seven loose balls.

The remaining league honors this week went as follows: Brandon Miller (Philadelphia) - Overall Player of the Week and Bob Watson (Toronto) - Defence.

The NLL Weekly Player Awards are determined each week by a vote of the General Managers and Head Coaches of the league's ten member teams.

The Roughnecks next home game is March 19th which is proceeding at 7:30 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The game will be broadcast live at www.nll.com at 7:30 p.m.
