Cordingley Will Lead East All-Stars

Toronto - The National Lacrosse League has announced the coaching staffs for the 2011 All-Star Game, presented by the Oneida Indian Nation. The game takes place at the Turning Stone Arena at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York on Sunday, February 27 at 2pm Eastern.

Toronto Rock Head Coach Troy Cordingley will lead the East All-Stars, while Chris Hall of the Washington Stealth will coach the best from the West.

These two coaches last met one another in the 2010 NLL Champion's Cup where the Stealth captured their first championship with a 15-11 win over Toronto.

"I'm honoured," said Cordingley. "This honour is a reflection of the success our coaching staff and players had last season, and I'm honoured to have the privilege to represent that success we had as a team."

Edmonton Rush head coach Derek Keenan will be the assistant coach of the West Team. Colorado Mammoth assistant coach Ed Comeau will be assistant coach of the East Team.

Coach Cordingley has previously competed in an NLL All-Star Game as a player back in 1999 when Team Canada defeated Team USA 25-24 in overtime. He remembers his All-Star Game experience fondly.

"It was a lot of fun," expressed Cordingley. "To have a chance to play with the other guys you are usually beating up on was a special experience, but this year I look forward to just sitting back and watching from the bench."

Fans can help select the All-Star Game starters by casting their ballot at NLL.com/AllStar through Sunday, February 6. The All-Star team selections will be announced next week.

Tickets for the All-Star Game are priced at $20 and $30 for adults and $10 for youth 12 and under. They are available at the Turning Stone Box office or by calling 315-361-SHOW or toll-free at 1-877-833-SHOW. The Box Office is open daily from 10am to 8pm. Tickets may also be purchased at any Ticketmaster location or online at ticketmaster.com. Group ticket packages are also available.

The 2011 NLL All-Star game presented by the Oneida Indian Nation will be televised in the United States live nationally on VERSUS. Details relating to the Canadian telecast of the game will be announced in the near future.
