Richmond RiverDogs News Release

Richmond, VA February 21,2005: The Richmond RiverDogs, in association with Red Rocket Merchandising Corp. and OldGlory.com, are hosting the First Annual Battle of the Bands at the Richmond Coliseum on Saturday, April 2nd at 7:35pm. As the RiverDogs battle the Danbury Trashers for bragging rights in the Eastern Division of the United Hockey League (UHL), local and regional bands will wage their own musical battle in between periods to score the coveted Best-Band honor.

Record label VIP's will be on-hand to listen and judge the unsigned bands' performances and award phenomenal prizes to the winner. Noted personages from the music and entertainment industry will also be on-hand for this mega-event, sure to rock-the-roof off the Richmond Coliseum.

Red Rocket Merchandising Corp. and OldGlory.com, leaders in sports, music and entertainment merchandising, are combining with the RiverDogs to offer bands the opportunity to be seen and heard in this 10,000+ seat arena. Competing bands will each be given their own promotional stands in the lobby to offer fans their CD's, touring & appearance information, bio's, merchandise and more. A special stage is being constructed for the April 2nd mega-event as well as a sound and mixing system.

Local, regional, state and national media as well as corporations and retailers in the music, entertainment, sports and hospitality industries are all being made aware of this mega-event so that maximum attention and coverage is assured. Schools in the area will also be contacted as part of a special press campaign.

The Richmond RiverDogs announcement of the April 2nd Battle of the Bands comes only weeks after the United Hockey League (UHL) announced that the team will host the 2006 UHL All-Star Classic to be played at the Richmond Coliseum on Tuesday, January 24, 2006.
