Flint Generals News Release

FLINT, MI - Flint Generals right wing Kevin Kerr was the target of a bounty that was issued by Motor City Coach Steve Shannon in a game on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at Perani's Arena in Flint.

After a hearing with presiding United Hockey League President & C.E.O., Richard Brosal, and Vice President of Hockey Operations, Brad Jones, a ruling was made that Shannon would be suspended for the remainder of the season.

Kerr realizes the importance of this situation for all players in the United Hockey League and all athletes. "I am glad that the United Hockey League took this situation seriously," said Kerr. "I have a great deal of respect for Richard Brosal for looking into this."

"It is good to know that we (the players) have someone who is genuinely looking out for the welfare of the players on and off the ice and to protect the integrity of our league," continues Kerr. "On a personal and professional level, I support the decision the United Hockey League had to make on this unfortunate situation. It's time to get back to the task at hand and start winning some hockey games."
