SWEEP DREAMS: The Flying Squirrels will attempt to pick up their third series sweep of the season with a win tonight against the Bowie Baysox...Richmond's last series sweep this season occurred 7/4-7/7 in a four-game set against Trenton...The club swept four series last season...

Also with a win tonight, the Flying Squirrels would pass the Baysox for the wild card lead in the Western Division...Richmond has spent the last 11 days in third place and last shared second 8/6...The club has not had sole possession of second place in the division since 8/1 (16 days).

RALLY PIGS: Last night's victory for the Flying Squirrels matched their largest comeback win of the season as the club trailed Bowie 4-0 after the top of the first inning...It was the third time this season that Richmond came back from a four-run deficit...The club fell behind 4-0 on Opening Day against New Britain before battling back to record a 6-4 win...The team also trailed New Britain 4-0 and 5-1 on 7/20 before eventually winning 7-5...The Flying Squirrels improved to 27-32 when their opponent scores first and they dropped the Baysox to 46-17 when scoring first in a game.

FAST START: The Flying Squirrels scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning last night, giving the club 72 total runs scored in the first frame this season...The only other more productive run-scoring frame for the club is the sixth in which the team has scored 75 total runs...Of the Richmond's 72 first-inning runs, 51 of them have been scored at The Diamond.

SAN FRANCISCO: Outfielder Francisco Peguero went 3-for-4 last night with a double, two RBIs and a run scored...The 23-year-old has hits in seven straight games, his sixth hit streak of five games or more in 50 games since joining the Flying Squirrels 6/23...The Dominican is 17-for-39 (.436) with his in nine of his last 10 games overall with two doubles, a triple, six RBIs, and nine runs scored, raising his batting average from .272 to .303.

POCKETS PICKED: Since 7/9, opposing baserunners are 40-for-45 (.889) over Richmond's last 38 games in stole base attempts...Over that span, the only baserunner to get thrown out by a catcher was New Hampshire's Adeiny Hechavarria by Johnny Monell 8/2...The other four runners thrown out on the bases where caught by pitchers...The Flying Squirrels rank 10th in the 12-team Eastern League with a stolen base against efficiency of .256 (40-for-156).

HOME AND AWAY: The Flying Squirrels are 41-22 overall at home - the best home record in the Eastern League - and they are the only team in the league with more than 37 wins at home...They are batting .263 in 63 games at The Diamond while averaging 4.59 runs per game at home (289R/63G)....Overall, the club is 25-34 on the road, and is batting .224 and averaging 3.51 runs per game (207R/59G) in 59 road contests...Following the team's current six-game homestand, it will play 12 of its final 16 games on the road.

PITCHING IN: The Flying Squirrels pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 3.40 ERA through 122 games and has allowed a league-low 472 runs...Richmond's pitching staff has allowed two runs or less in 46 of its 122 games (38%)...Starting pitching has allowed three runs or less in 86 of the team's 122 games (70%) and the club is 58-28 in those contests.
