New Britain Rock Cats News Release

New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats of the Eastern League made two roster moves today, with each involving a Pitcher.

RHP David Bromberg, the 23-year-old native of Santa Monica, CA who the Minnesota Twins selected in the 32nd Round of the 2005 Draft, has been placed on the Disabled List with tendonitis in his right shoulder. The 6'5"/ 240-pound hurler had already had his 2011 Season shortened after being struck on the right forearm by a batted ball in New Hampshire on April 28th, an injury that required surgery and kept him sidelined for nearly three months. The affable righty returned to action with the Rock Cats on July 27th only to experience this recent shoulder problem. A member of Minnesota's 40-Man roster and

a huge fan favorite, Bromberg finishes his frustrating season tossing just 37 total innings in 8 appearances. The Florida State League 2009 Pitcher of the Year concludes the current campaign with a 1-3 record and a 6.08 ERA.

LHP Michael Tarsi, the 25-year-old Danbury, CT native who the Twins selected out of the University of Connecticut in the 12th Round of the 2007 Draft, has rejoined New Britain's active roster after nearly seven weeks on the DL; the 6'8"/202-pound southpaw went down July 7th with a left shoulder strain. Prior to his shelving, the lefty had compiled a 3-0 record in 23 appearances out of the 2011 Rock Cats' bullpen.
