TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Harrisburg Senators will meet in the opener of a three-game series...Left-hander Ryan Verdugo allowed seven runs in just two-plus innings of work and the Bowie Baysox rolled to a 12-4 win over the Flying Squirrels in the finale of a three-game series on Sunday afternoon in front of 6,426 fans at The Diamond.

ONE-SIDED: The Flying Squirrels suffered their worst defeat of the season on Sunday, falling to Bowie 12-4 in the finale of the three-game series...Richmond's previous most one-sided defeat was a 9-2 loss at Akron 5/27...The 12 runs allowed by the Flying Squirrels pitching staff was also a season-high...The previous high for most runs allowed in a game by Richmond was 11 on 4/22 against Altoona...Richmond's staff ERA rose from 2.96 to 3.05 after allowing nine earned runs on Sunday.
SERIES STREAK SNAPPED: The Flying Squirrels had their series winning streak snapped with Sunday's 12-4 loss to Bowie...The club had won four consecutive series entering its series with Bowie...Richmond fell to 7-4 in rubber matches and 11-10 overall in series finales...The team also dropped to 4-9 in day games after night games and 6-10 overall in day games.
THE JOLLY ROGER: Outfielder Roger Kieschnick is batting .309 (43-for-139) over his last 37 games with six doubles, three triples, six home runs, 25 RBIs and 21 runs scored...The 24-year-old has 16 multi-hit games over that span which also includes a season-long eight-game hit streak...He has raised his batting average from .173 to .251 since 5/7...His five RBIs Thursday night were a season-high for a Richmond batter.
PITCHING IN: The Flying Squirrels pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 3.05 ERA through 68 games...The pitching staff has logged a league-high 622 1/3 innings of work and has allowed a league-low 249 runs...Richmond entered Sunday's game with the lowest in all of MiLB (2.96).
NO PLACE LIKE HOME: The Flying Squirrels have begun a stretch where they will play 21 out of 28 games at home including a doubleheader against Harrisburg 7/9...The club is 22-14 at home and is batting .246 in 36 games at The Diamond while averaging 4.33 runs per game at home (156R/36G)...Overall, the club is 12-20 on the road, and is batting .201 and averaging 3.22 runs per game (103R/32G) in 32 road contests.
