TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Reading Phillies will meet in game two of a four-game series...The Flying Squirrels ended a five-game losing streak and won their first-ever home game 3-0 on Thursday night at The Diamond.

TONIGHT'S STARTERS: Right-hander David Mixon gets the start in game two of the series for the Flying Squirrels...Tossed five innings in his 2010 debut at Bowie and did not factor into the decision...Suffered the loss in his Double-A debut on April 11 at Bowie...Allowed four runs on six hits over five innings...Struck out two and walked none...Gave up two home runs in the bottom of the second inning (Brandon Waring leading off, Tyler Hensen with one out)... Allowed leadoff batter to reach base in two of his five innings on the mound...Runner scored on both times...Of the six hits allowed, three went for extra bases...Threw approximately 71 pitches, 47 strikes...Has not had a professional at-bat in his career.

Left-hander Yohan Flande gets the nod in game two of the series for the Phillies...Allowed just one hit over six scoreless innings in his 2010 debut...Walked two and struck out one...Did not factor into the decision...Went 4-4 with a 4.58 ERA in 13 starts with Reading in 2009...Began the 2009 season with Advanced-A Clearwater and went 7-1 with a 2.52 ERA in 13 starts...Selected as a Florida State League All-Star and also selected to participate in the 2009 All-Star Futures Game in St. Louis...Made his pro debut in 2008 with the GCL Phillies and went 4-1 with a 2.19 ERA in 10 games/9 starts...Helped lead the GCL Phillies to a Gulf Coast League Championship...Signed as a non-drafted free agent by Philadelphia December 13, 2004.

GOING STREAKING: Brandon Crawford has opened the season with hits in each of his first seven games...The 23-year-old is 9-for-25 (.360) to open the season with three doubles, a home run, one RBI and four walks...The former fourth-round pick was a 2010 Non-Roster Invitee to Major League Spring Training...He appeared in 24 games and hit .214 with two doubles, a home run, and 3 RBI...The UCLA product entered the season rated as the #9 prospect in the Giants organization after hitting .258 with four home runs and 31 RBI with Double-A Connecticut last season.

CATCH OF THE DAY: Richmond catcher Jackson Williams has hits in each of his first six games this season...The 23-year-old is 8-for-18 (.444) at the plate with three doubles, a home run, and two RBI...He leads the team and Eastern League in batting average and is tied for the team lead in extra base hits with three (minimum three games played)...Williams hit just .223 in 105 games with Connecticut last season and is a career .217 hitter in 244 professional games...The Oklahoma product has also thrown out 57% of would-be base stealers (4-for-7), tops in the Eastern League.

NO SHOCKER: Wichita State product Connor Gillaspie went 1-for-4 last night with his third home run and eighth RBI...He has driven in eight of the club's 17 runs...The 22-year-old is one of three sluggers in the Eastern League with three home runs and is tied for third with the eight RBI...Gillaspie hit four home runs and drove in 67 runs in 2009 with Advanced-A San Jose...The former supplemental first round pick (#37 overall) entered the 2010 season rated as the #17 prospect in the Giants organization according to Baseball America.

HORSESHOES AND HAND GRENADES: All eight games for the Flying Squirrels this season have been decided by three runs or less..A save has been recorded for the victorious team in seven of the eight...The average margin of victory/defeat is 2.1 runs (17R/8G).

TWO OUT MAGIC: Nick Noonan collected just the third hit for the Flying Squirrels with a runner in scoring position and two outs...Richmond is now 3-for-34 (.088) in that situation...The RBI was Noonan's first on the season.

GOING LONG: The Flying Squirrels hit a pair of home runs in last night's contest...It was the second time in as many nights that Richmond has hit multiple home runs at a game...The Flying Squirrels are tied for fourth in the Eastern League in home runs with five...All five home runs have come with no one on base...Three of the five have come leading off an inning.

CFS STAT OF THE NIGHT: The Flying Squirrels collected three hits leading off innings last night...All three hits led to Richmond runs including Thomas Neal's single in the second, Jackson Williams' homer in the fifth and Connor Gillaspie's home run in the sixth...Overall, Flying Squirrels' batters are hitting .258 (17-for-66) leading off an inning.
