TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Reading Phillies will meet in game one of a four-game series...The Curve completed a three-game series sweep of the Flying Squirrels on Wednesday night with a 4-2 win in the finale of the series.

TONIGHT'S STARTERS: Right-hander Daryl Maday gets the start in the 2010 home opener for the Flying Squirrels...Tossed five innings in his 2010 debut at Bowie and did not factor into the decision...Allowed four hits while striking out five and walking three...Allowed the leadoff man to reach in two of his five innings on the mound...Both runs allowed came in the bottom of the second inning...Got out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam with just one run scoring (4-6-3 DP, K)...One of the three walks issued scored...Worked around a leadoff double in the bottom of the fifth inning...Unofficially threw 77 pitches, 44 strikes...Is 2-for-15 (.133) in his career at the plate with one RBI, three strikeouts, and two sacrifices.

Right-hander Mike Cisco gets the nod in game one of the series for the Phillies...Earned the win in his first start of the year against Portland allowing just one run on five hits in six innings...Stuck out two and walked one...Began 2009 with Advanced-A Clearwater and went 7-3 with a 3.31 ERA in 15 games/14 games started...Made seven starts with Double-A Reading and went 2-4 with a 4.58 ERA...Made pro debut in 2008 and posted a 1-0 mark with a 1.86 ERA in nine games, one start, with SS-A Williamsport before being promoted to Low-A Lakewood...Went 2-1 with a 0.51 ERA in eight games including six starts with Lakewood...Struck out 30 batters and walked none in 35 innings of work...Selected in the 36th round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of South Carolina...Grandson of former Philadelphia Phillies pitching coach Galen Cisco.

GOING STREAKING: Brandon Crawford has opened the season with hits in each of his first six games...The 23-year-old is 8-for-21 (.381) to open the season with two doubles, a home run, one RBI and four walks...The former fourth-round pick was a 2010 Non-Roster Invitee to Major League Spring Training...He appeared in 24 games and hit .214 with two doubles, a home run, and 3 RBI...The UCLA product entered the season rated as the #9 prospect in the Giants organization after hitting .258 with four home runs and 31 RBI with Double-A Connecticut last season.

CATCH OF THE DAY: Richmond catcher Jackson Williams has hits in each of his first five games this season...The 23-year-old is 7-for-16 (.438) at the plate with three doubles and two RBI...He leads the team in batting average and is tied with Thomas Neal for the team lead in extra base hits (minimum two games played)...Williams hit just .223 in 105 games with Connecticut last season and is a career .217 hitter in 244 professional games...The Oklahoma product has also thrown out 50% of would-be base stealers (3-for-6).

NO SHOCKER: Wichita State product Connor Gillaspie went 1-for-5 last night with his second home run and and seventh RBI...The 22-year-old is one of five sluggers in the Eastern League with two home runs and is tied for third with the seven RBI...Gillaspie hit four home runs and drove in 67 runs in 2009 with Advanced-A San Jose...The former supplemental first round pick (#37 overall) entered the 2010 season rated as the #17 prospect in the Giants organization according to Baseball America.

HORSESHOES AND HAND GRENADES: All seven games for the Flying Squirrels this season have been decided by three runs or less..A save has been recorded for the victorious team in six of the seven...The average margin of victory/defeat is 2.0 runs (14R/7G)...Two of the first seven games for Richmond have been decided by one run, both losses for the Flying Squirrels...Richmond has led for approximately 6 1/2 innings through the first seven games.

STRANDED SQUIRRELS: The Richmond Flying Squirrels have stranded 67 runners on the bases over the first seven games of the season...The club has left more runners on than any other team in the EL...The team is ninth in runs scored (12)...The Flying Squirrels have the second-lowest batting average with runners in scoring position through seven games, hitting just .162 (4-for-68) in that situation...Richmond has just one hit with runners in scoring position and two outs as the club is 2-for-32 (.063) with 13 strikeouts in that situation.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU: Flying Squirrels infield Sharlon Schoop celebrates his 23rd birthday today...The Curacao-native recorded his first hit of the season on a pinch-hit, infield single in top of the sixth inning Wednesday night at Altoona.

CFS STAT OF THE NIGHT: The Flying Squirrels notched 12 hits in Wednesday's 4-2 loss at Altoona...The 12 hits are a single-game high for the club through the first seven games...It marked the third time that Richmond reached double-digits in hits (4/8 @ BOW, 4/10 @ BOW)...The team's 58 hits rank fourth in the Eastern League behind Binghamton, Akron, and Reading.

ROSTER MOVES: The Flying Squirrels made several roster moves today including transferring RHP Daryl Maday and David Mixon back on the active roster and transferring RHP Mitch Lively and LHP Clayton Tanner to Extended Spring Training...The club also placed OF Tyler Graham on the Disabled List and activated INF Andy D'Alessio from the DL...The former 19th-round pick out of Clemson spent time with Double-A Connecticut and Low-A Augusta in 2009 hitting a combined .283 with eight home runs and 50 RBI.
