TODAY'S GAME: The third of a three game series. The 12th of 12 meetings with the Mud Hens and the sixth of six here. The Braves are 2-9 vs. the Mud Hens, 1-4 at The Diamond. The Braves were 2-4 vs. the Mud Hens at The Diamond last season. The seventh of a seven game homestand (Richmond is 3-3). The Braves open an eight game road trip Monday. The Braves are 8-15 vs. the IL West at home, 14-29 overall. The Braves are fourth in the South, 3.5 games behind Charlotte. Toledo leads the West Division by six games. Richmond is 381-327 all-time vs. the Mud Hens. The Braves are playing their seventh straight game against a first place club.

YESTERDAY'S GAME: The Braves came from behind to beat the Mud Hens 8-6 Saturday at The Diamond. The Braves snapped a four game home losing streak vs. the Mud Hens with a five run seventh inning. The Braves jumped out to a 2-0 lead on third inning RBI doubles by James Jurries and Scott Thorman. The Hens moved in front in the fourth on a three run double by Gookie Dawkins that gave the Hens a 3-2 lead. In the top of the seventh, RBI singles by Brandon Harper and Ryan Raburn made it 5-2 Hens. Richmond batted around in the home half to grab the lead. Eisx Snead knocked in a run with a single. Kerry Robinson produced a run with a ground out. Thorman singled two home to give the Braves the lead. Andy Marte's sacrifice fly capped the rally that put Richmond in front 7-5. J.C. Boscan knocked in a run with a sac fly in the eighth to give the Braves an 8-5 lead. Dewayne Wise doubled a run home in the ninth to make it 8-6 and the Hens had the tying runs in scoring position but Jason Childers battled out the jam. Thorman and Robinson had three hits each for the Braves. Dawkins had three hits for the Hens. Chad Paronto picked up the win in relief. Steve Green took then loss. Childers notched a save. Braves starter Chuck James equaled a staff season high with eight strikeouts in six innings. Braves pitchers struck out 13 and walked only two.

STARTERS SHINE: The five current members of the Braves starting pitching rotation (Kevin Barry, Kyle Davies, Adam Bernero, Chuck James, and Anthony Lerew) have allowed just 10 earned runs in their last 54.1 innings (seven starts, eight games) for a 1.66 ERA. The Braves have gone six straight games without allowing a first inning run

THE NUMBER CRUNCH: Kerry Robinson has a seven game hitting streak (13-23 .565). Richmond is last in the IL in batting average, runs scored, home runs, strikeouts by pitchers, and walks issued. Esix Snead leads the IL in stolen bases. Snead's 46 steals is tied four seventh best in a season in R-Braves history. J.C Boscan has RBI in four straight games. His three game hitting streak ended last night. Snead has hits in three straight games (5-13 .384). Scott Thorman is five for his last eight with five RBI. The Mud Hens have scored 42 runs in five games in Richmond. They have scored at least six runs in each game at The Diamond this season.

THE ROSTER: Atlanta has designated RHP Jim Brower for assignment. He is expected to join the R-Braves Tuesday. The Braves roster stands at 23 (11 pitchers, two catchers, six infielders, and four outfielders; four players are on the DL). Ten Braves have earned big league call-ups this season and three are currently with Atlanta (Brayan Pena, Kelly Johnson, and John Foster). The Braves have made 113 roster moves this season and lost 354 man-games to the disabled list. The Braves have used a total of 50 players this season.
