Salt Lake Bees News Release

FRESNO (April 14, 2015)- Preston Tucker belted a pair of two run homers, as the Fresno Grizzlies rout the Salt Lake Bees 12-4 on Tuesday night. Angels' pitcher Garrett Richards started for the Bees on a major league injury rehab assignment and retired the first six batters he faced, but allowed five runs over the next three innings before getting pulled after one batter in the sixth. The game was tied at 3-3 when Richards walked Jon Singleton with two outs in the fifth before Tucker drilled an 0-2 pitch over the right field wall to put Fresno ahead to stay. Tucker would follow that with another two run shot in the seventh to make it 7-4 and the Grizzlies put the game away with five runs in the eighth.

The Bees jumped out to a 2-0 lead with one run in the first on a sacrifice fly by Alex Yarbrough and another in the second on an RBI single by Roger Kieschnick, who would lead Salt Lake with two hits and two runs batted in. Richards went five innings and allowed five runs on seven hits with two strikeouts and four walks. Marc Krauss would add a pair of doubles and one RBI, while Grant Green and Kyle Kubitza each chipped in with two hits.

The Bees will play their home opener at Smith's Ballpark on Friday, April 17 at 6:35 p.m. with a fireworks show postgame. Tickets and additional information is available at www.slbees.com.
