SAVANNAH, Ga. - Outfielder Richard Pena, who left Saturday night's game in the sixth inning, has been placed on the Savannah disabled list with a left ankle sprain. Will Vogl has been called up from Extended Spring Training and will be active for tonight's game versus the Catfish, the New York Mets announced today.

Pena injured the ankle when he stepped on first base trying to beat out a bunt. He was hitting .257 with 3 doubles and 1 RBI.

Vogl joins the Gnats after spending all of the 2007 season with the Brooklyn Cyclones. With Brooklyn, Vogl hit .240 in 69 games with 7 doubles, 4 triples, 1 home run and 22 RBIs. The 5-10, 183-pound Vogl was signed as a non-drafted free agent in 2006 after spending his college career at St. John's University.

The Sand Gnats conclude their four-game set with the Columbus Catfish tonight when Opening Day starter Michael Antonini (1-1, 3.12) takes the hill for Savannah while Alex Cobb (1-1, 1.54) throws for Columbus. First pitch is slated for 7 p.m.
