BILOXI, MS. - The Milwaukee Brewers have announced the following roster moves that affect the Shuckers' roster prior to today's 5:10 p.m. game with the Montgomery Biscuits at MGM Park.
SUMMARY:
- Javi Salas, RHP, placed on the 7-day disabled list (retroactive to 6/25)
- Junior Rincon, RHP, transferred to Biloxi from A+ Brevard County
Salas, 24, is 3-2 with a 5.13 ERA (47.1ip, 27er) over 13 games, 12 starts this season, striking out 35 and walking 38. The Coral Gables, FL native has held the opposition to a .207 batting average.
Salas was selected by the Brewers in the 10th round of the 2014 draft out of Miami (FL).
Rincon, 24, made 19 relief appearances for A+ Brevard County this season going 0-2 with a 3.50 ERA (36ip, 14er), striking out 33 and walking 20. Rincon went 4-1 with a save and a 3.66 ERA (19.2ip, 8er) in 9 games (2 starts) in the second half last season for R Helena. Overall, was 6-4 with a 4.65 ERA in 18 games (2 starts).
Rincon was released by Miami on January 21, 2014 and was signed by Milwaukee to a minor-league contract on January 29, 2014. The Santo Domingo, DR native was originally signed by the Marlins as a minor-league free agent August 13, 2010.
The Shuckers' current roster is made up of 25 active players and three on the disabled list.
The Shuckers will look to pull even in the five-game series in game four of the set with Montgomery today at MGM Park. RHP Jorge Ortega (1-6, 4.13) takes the mound for Biloxi, while Montgomery counters with LHP Chris Kirsch (4-2, 3.36). First pitch is scheduled for 5:10 p.m., with coverage starting at 4:50 p.m. on the Biloxi Shuckers' Radio Network's flagship station WGCM 1240 AM, 100.9 FM, Pascagoula's WPMO 1580 AM and the TuneIn Radio app.
Today features McDonald's Family Fun Day, which includes a pregame autograph session on the concourse, post-game catch on the field and as always, the McDonald's Kids Fun Run.
