
Faria, Querecuto Deleted; Chirinos Added

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Tampa Bay Rays have announced that RHP Jake Faria and INF Juniel Querecuto have been transferred from the Biscuits to AAA Durham.
Faria, 22, was 1-6 with a 4.21 ERA in 14 starts for the Biscuits. A 2016 midseason All-Star selection, Faria is currently fifth in all of minor league baseball in strikeouts with 93. This will be his first-ever stint in Triple-A.
Querecuto, 23, was hitting .283 with two home runs and 22 RBI in 30 games for the Biscuits in 2016. He also hit four doubles and scored 14 runs in 113 at-bats on the season. This will be Querecuto's second stint with the Bulls this season.
The Rays have also announced that RHP Yonny Chirinos has been transferred from A+ Charlotte to the Biscuits. Chirinos, 22, was 6-1 with a 2.15 ERA in 7 starts and 4 appearances out of the bullpen for the Stone Crabs in 2016. The Venezuelan will start for the Biscuits on Monday night away at Biloxi, his first start at the Double-A level.
