Biloxi Shuckers News Release

CHATTANOOGA, TN - RHP Marcos Diplan has been promoted to the Biloxi Shuckers in a move announced by the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday. Diplan spent the first half of the season with the Carolina Mudcats and will start on Sunday afternoon in Chattanooga.

In 13 starts for the Mudcats, Diplan posted a 3-2 record with a 3.52 ERA. The right-hander struck out 60 batters in 61.1 innings, and opponents hit .261 against him. His performance earned him a spot on the Carolina League All-Star Team, his third All-Star honor in his career.

The 21-year-old native of Licey in the Dominican Republic was acquired by the Brewers along with RHP Corey Knebel and SS Luis Sardinas in a 2015 trade that sent RHP Yovani Gallardo to the Texas Rangers. He was added to the Brewers 40-man roster this past offseason and is rated as the Number 11 prospect in the Brewers organization according to MLB Pipeline.

In a corresponding roster move, LHP Brad Kuntz has been placed on the temporary inactive list.

The Shuckers continue their six-game series in Chattanooga against the Lookouts at 1:15 PM CT. The game can be heard locally on Cruisin' WCGM 1240 AM/ FM 100.9 and online on TuneIn Radio or the MiLB First Pitch App.
